One-of-One Tea Light Holder
A quiet form divided by material, colour, and movement.
The Kire is hand-turned from ambrosia maple and Canadian hard maple, interrupted by a flowing section of reclaimed skateboard veneer. Natural grain and subtle tonal variation define most of the form, while exposed layers of dyed maple cut through the piece in an irregular line.
Rather than sitting as decoration on the surface, the reclaimed material becomes part of the structure — appearing, disappearing, and shifting as the piece is viewed from different angles.
The result is a restrained object built around a single deliberate disruption.
