Blackburl Works was founded on a love of making, but it has always been about more than the finished piece. As a career firefighter, I've seen firsthand how important community, resilience, and meaningful connection can be. I've also seen how often men carry stress, anxiety, grief, and personal struggles without ever talking about them.
Woodworking became a way to slow down. In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, the workshop became a place where I could focus on creating something lasting with my own hands. Every cut, every curve, and every finish is a reminder that good things take time.
That belief extends beyond the workshop.
