Are all Blackburl pieces handmade?

Yes. Every Blackburl piece is handcrafted in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada using premium hardwoods, exotic woods, recycled skateboard decks, and carefully selected materials. Each item is individually shaped, finished, and inspected by hand.
Are your products one of a kind?

Most Blackburl products are one-of-one creations. Even when similar designs are made, the natural grain, colour, figure, and recycled skateboard patterns ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike.
Do you make custom pieces?

Yes. We accept custom projects depending on availability. If you have an idea or would like a specific wood, size, or colour combination, please get in touch to discuss your project.
How long does it take to make an order?

Many items are ready to ship, while others are made to order. Production times vary depending on the product and current workload. Estimated lead times are provided on individual product pages whenever applicable.

Why do you use recycled skateboard decks?

Recycled skateboard decks give new life to high-quality Canadian maple while creating striking layers of colour that can't be replicated with traditional hardwoods. It's a sustainable material that makes every piece completely unique.
What woods do you use?

Blackburl products are crafted from premium domestic hardwoods, exotic hardwoods, burls, and carefully selected specialty woods chosen for their beauty, durability, and character.
Food-contact items are finished with food-safe oils and waxes. Decorative and utility pieces receive finishes chosen for their durability and intended use while preserving the natural beauty of the wood.

Is Blackburl Butter food safe?

Yes. Blackburl Butter is made using Canadian food-grade mineral oil, organic Canadian beeswax, and citrus oil to help protect and nourish wooden products.
Shipping & Returns
Where do you ship?

We currently ship throughout Canada and to select international destinations. Shipping options and rates are calculated during checkout.

What if my order arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 14 days of delivery with photographs of the product and packaging so we can help resolve the issue.
