The naturally irregular live edge of the padauk forms the defining gesture of each piece, while a narrow band of layered skateboard maple creates a vivid transition between the deep red hardwood and the quieter grain of the ambrosia maple.
Emberline takes its name from the meeting point between the rich, fire-like tones of the padauk and the fine line of colour running through each coaster. The live edges remain intentionally different, giving each piece its own silhouette while preserving a clear visual relationship between the pair.
The contrast between exotic hardwood, natural edge, and reclaimed skateboard material gives the set a stronger presence than a conventional coaster. Designed for everyday use but made to remain on display, Emberline brings the material language of Blackburl into a smaller functional object for the table.
