A sculptural pepper mill shaped from hard maple, purpleheart, and reclaimed skateboard maple, paired with an antique-style cast metal grinding mechanism. The flowing line of colourful skateboard veneer moves vertically through the body, creating a deliberate interruption between the pale maple and deep purpleheart.
Turned by hand with a restrained, gently curved profile, Nagare—meaning flow—takes its name from the movement created by the layered skateboard material as it travels through the piece. The exposed mechanical grinder gives the mill a strong utilitarian character, contrasting with the warmth and precision of the hand-shaped wooden body.

The Parallax is a one-of-one salt and pepper mill set handcrafted from maple, walnut, purpleheart, padauk, and recycled skateboard veneers. Contrasting sections of hardwood move through each form, while layered skateboard veneers create narrow bands of colour that curve, shift direction, and reveal different compositions around the bodies of the mills.
Named for the apparent shift of an object when viewed from different positions, The Parallax explores movement and changing perspective. Each mill presents a distinct arrangement of hardwood, grain, and layered colour, while the shared materials and flowing veneer lines create a visual connection between the two pieces.
Designed as functional objects for everyday use, each mill is individually composed, laminated, turned, shaped, sanded, and finished by hand. Together, the pair forms a collected composition while remaining distinct objects in their own right.
